Necessary conditions for wave formation - Tunnel (2021)

Video 30:14

A hammer has two kinds of output. One is the knock that changes the physical state of an object, which is momentary. The other is the sound produced by the knocking, which is lasting. The project mainly discusses the sound (wave) produced by knocking on a specific environment and its spread. The locations where the percussion test takes place are mainly places symbolizing passage and boundary. The performer continuously knocks at nearby objects while moving.

In the 30-minute journey, I knocked at the railings with a hammer, causing the sound to echo in the tunnel.
